VP JD Vance Arrives in India for 4-Day Visit to Discuss Trade and Tariffs

 U.S. Vice President JD Vance is in India where he is meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss tariffs and to negotiate a bilateral trade deal.

Vance’s 4-day trip to India hopes to strengthen relations between the U.S. and India. Along with his wife, Usha, of Indian descent, and their children, the Vances met with Modi at his official residence in New Delhi. As can be seen in the video below, Modi was gracious and welcoming to the Vances. Later the two leaders “reviewed and positively assessed the progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation,” per a statement issued by Modi’s office. The statement said Modi and Vance “welcomed the significant progress” in discussions toward an expected trade deal between the the U.S. and India.

The Vances were welcomed to Panchavati, the Prime Minister’s 12-acre official residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg (7LKM), formerly 7, Race Course Road, in New Delhi.
