President Trump has posted on Truth Social three videos showing the arrival of the deported Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang members in El Salvador, where they are now kept in custody in the CECOT maximum-security prison.

Much has happened since these deportation flights took off from Texas and landed in El Salvador:

  • 1. US District Court Judge Boasberg ordered that the planes be turned around and that these murderous terrorists be returned to American soil. He also instituted a Nationwide Injunction prohibiting all further deportations of TdA gang members under the Alien Enemies Act. (Our Report.)
  • 2. The Supreme Court determined that Boasberg lacked jurisdiction, and vacated his orders. It stated that if a scheduled deportee wanted to challenge his deportation, he could only do so by petitioning for a Writ of Habeas Corpus, and that this could only be filed in the venue where he was held in custody (in this case, in Texas). The Supreme Court ordered that deportees be given notice of their deportation in sufficient time to allow them to file a habeas petition. (Our Report.)
  • 3. Boasberg nevertheless determined that though he now lacked jurisdiction to handle the case, there was a period in time when he had jurisdiction, and his order to turn the planes around was defied by the Trump Administration, so he announced his intention to hold the responsible Trump Officials in contempt. (Our Report.)
  • 4. An Appellate Court paused Boasberg’s contempt proceeding, without coming to any determination on its merit, to allow a review of the government’s appeal. (Reported in an Update to Item 3.)
  • 5. The ACLU filed an emergency motion in the Supreme Court claiming that TdA gang members were queued-up for deportation without being given adequate notice in sufficient time to file habeas petitions. (Reported in an Update to Item 2.)
  • 6. The Supreme Court granted the ACLU request and ordered a total halt to all TdA deportations under the Alien Enemies Act until its further order. (Reported in an Update to Item 2.)

With this history as prologue, President Trump has posted three videos showing the arrival of the TdA gang members in El Salvador. We think they are all worth viewing.
