Politico Misses Payroll: Seems They Were Funded by USAID.
Did Politico ever have any legitimacy as an independent publication, or did it survive, indeed thrive, only on a USAID subsidy?

We knew Politico was left-wing. We knew they were obsessively anti-Trump. Now we learn that its operations were bankrolled by USAID. The U.S. government subsidized Politico $8.2 million in 237 transactions. Podcaster Benny Johnson reports that Politico “spent the last 10 years trying to destroy the MAGA Movement,” and we’ll add that destroying the MAGA Movement necessarily includes destroying Donald Trump.
it is being separately reported that Politico also received U.S. government funding from other U.S. agencies. The Daily Mail reported that Politico “was given millions more from other federal agencies.” “Most notably,” the Daily Mail reported, “the Department of Health and Human Services had $1.37 million in obligations” to Politico.
Will Politico survive without this huge government subsidy? Its website is still up, but of course keeping it up requires paying its employees. As for the missed payroll, Politico says the missed payments were due to a “technical issue,” but it appears to some that closing the USAID tap certainly might spell the end for Politico. As Podcaster Benny Johnson puts it in the X posting copied above, “Now Politico will go out of business. The corruption is endless. Good riddance.”
White House Spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt says all U.S. government funding of Politico has ended. “We’re going line-by-line when it comes to the Federal Government’s books, and this President and his team are making decisions across the board on, “Do these receipts serve the interest of the American people? Is this a good use of the American taxpayers’ money?” If it is not, that funding will no longer be sent abroad …”
Yesterday, we published a listing of absurd expenditures made by USAID, see, “Trump has Closed USAID. The Agency has Long Been Accused of Mismanagement, Losing Funds, and Corruption.” Yesterday’s list included:
- $1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities”
- $70,000 for production of a “DEI musical” in Ireland
- $2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam
- $47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia
- $32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru
- $2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala
- $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt
- Hundreds of thousands of dollars for a non-profit linked to designated terrorist organizations — even AFTER an inspector general launched an investigation
- Millions to EcoHealth Alliance — which was involved in research at the Wuhan lab
- “Hundreds of thousands of meals that went to al Qaeda-affiliated fighters in Syria”
- Funding to print “personalized” contraceptives birth control devices in developing countries
- Hundreds of millions of dollars to fund “irrigation canals, farming equipment, and even fertilizer used to support the unprecedented poppy cultivation and heroin production in Afghanistan,” benefiting the Taliban
But now Karoline Leavitt has provided more examples of the absurdities that USAID has been funding:
- $2 million for sex changes in Guatemala
- $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt
- $20 million on a new Sesame Street show in Iraq
- $4.5 million to combat disinformation in Kazakhstan
This is a developing story, and we will update it, or write a new article, whenever more is learned.
