Kash Patel Sworn-In as New FBI Director
Kash will get well-respected conservative podcaster and former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino as his Deputy FBI Director.
The Senate vote was 51-49 in favor of the confirming Kash Patel. Every Democrat voted against Kash. All but two Republicans voted for Kash. Two ostensibly Republican senators, Senators Murkowski (Alaska) and Collins (Maine) voted with the Democrats, as they frequently do.
After being confirmed by the Senate a day earlier, Kash Patel arrived at the White House for his swearing-in as the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A large crowd of supporters was assembled and greeted him as he entered.
Kash was sworn in by new Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Immediately following the swearing-in, Kash give his remarks. “What a ride we have been on!,” he said as he started out. He praised President Trump as a “courageous warrior and leader,” and said that the faith and trust that Mr. Trump had placed in him to lead the FBI is “the greatest honor that I will ever have in my life.” He addressed AG Bondi, saying, “You’re my sister; you’re my mentor; you’re my friend; you’re my boss.” He said that his leadership would have “one standard: the Constitution.”
Kash said that he was “living the American dream. Anyone who thinks the American dream is dead, look here.”
To the senators who placed “an enormous trust in me” he promised that, “There will be accountability within the FBI and outside the FBI, and we will do it through rigorous constitution oversight, starting this weekend.”
To “those of you who think there will be a two-tier system of justice — not with Attorney General Bondi. There’s a singular system of justice for all Americans, and there will be with accountability.
Finally, speaking to the men and women of the FBI, Kash said, “I have your back, because you have the backs of the American people.” He then told FBI personnel that they will be held to the same high constitutional standard, and “any deviation from that standard will not be tolerated at this Federal Bureau of Investigation.”
Before the swearing-in, President Trump said he thought FBI Agents were very happy about Kash. The Agents, he said, have respect for him. The President predicted that Kash “will go down as one of the best [FBI Directors] ever.” “One of the reasons I wanted him is because the Agents love this guy and they respect this guy and this is what they wanted.”
Finally, with fresh wet ink on it, the President displays the Appointment of Kash Patel that he has just signed to be the new FBI Director.
Kash Patel is getting Dan Bongino as his Deputy Director. Bongino is a well-known conservative podcaster and a retired Secret Service Agent and was an Officer on the NYC Police Department.
